The Appenzeller Bahnen connect the regions between Lake Constance, the Thur and the Alpstein. Six railroad lines that couldn't be more different. The homely hilly landscape, the rustic farmhouses, the famous main street in Appenzell and the proximity to city life and the mountains show just how diverse a region can be.
With Swiss public transport, you can travel comfortably and punctually to your destination. The extensive transport network by train, bus, boat or mountain railway will take you almost anywhere. You need a valid ticket for all journeys, which you can buy from a ticket machine or via the SBB-app.

Train adventure
Experience several highlights of Eastern Switzerland on one round trip: Travel by cog railway from Rorschach Hafen to Heiden, feast on a 3-course menu at Restaurant Linde and travel by bus from Heiden to Walzenhausen. Our mountain railway then takes you steeply down to Rheineck, where the journey ends with a boat trip back to Rorschach Hafen.

Culinary Train Journey
